Karibu Nairobi!
I’ve been to many exciting places and met so many amazing people during my travels but I can genuinely say the people here are extremely kind. From the time we got off the plane, we have received greetings such as “Karibu Dada” which is Swahili for “Welcome Sister”. I like many black Americans do not know what country in Africa I derive from (I’ve been told my features are Ghanaian and Nigerian) but I can honestly say, I absolutely feel at home here. I am primarily here for work but this has been surprisingly eye-opening thus far and I’m excited to discover what the rest of my time here will reveal. #chaunceatravels
